Pocono International Raceway To Host Third Annual Charity Poker Event

On Friday, Pocono Raceway announced that its third annual Pocono Celebrity Charity Poker Showdown, will be held Thursday, July 31st prior to the GoBowling.com 400 race weekend. The event, which benefits the NASCAR Foundation and the Armed Forces Foundation, will occur at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs in Wilkes-Barre, PA. It will feature NASCAR drivers such as Kurt Busch, celebrities, and race fans.

There are only a limited number of playing spots available, but fans can choose from four different donation options to get in on the action. A donation of $250 will offer a pre-event VIP meet-and-greet with the drivers and celebrities involved and participation in the tournament while the a donation of $150 will offer a pre-event meet-and-greet with the drivers and celebrities and the ability to attend the event as a spectator. There are less expensive donation options as well – A $100 donation will offer participation in the poker tournament while a $50 will offer the ability to attend as a spectator. The highest placing fan will get to choose between two spectacular prizes – a VIP Race Experience at Pocono Raceway or a VIP Stay and Play Experience at Mohegan Sun.

Proceeds from this year’s event will allow the NASCAR Foundation and the Armed Forces Foundation to continue to impact children in schools around the country, with a particular focus on their partnership in the Armed Forces Foundation’s annual education initiative, called Operation Caring Classroom. This program aims to increase awareness, appreciation, and support among children for military families across the US, which aids over 40,000 children and 100 schools.
